Abstract

Fish are one of the important components in the aquatic ecosystem, therefore we need important information, one of which is through a bioecological approach, one of which is the bioecology of black tilan. Black spiny eel fish (Mastacembelus unicolor) living in the Sangah River, Banying Village, Landak Regency has never been researched on bioecology. The purpose of this study is to analyze longitudinal distribution, feeding habits, population structure and its relationship with aquatic habitat. The research was conducted March to May 2024 at 3 sampling station, namely Station I, Station II, and Station III. Sampling was carried out using trawlers, arrows and fishing rods. Water quality measurements are carried out in-situ at the time of fish sampling. The number of black spiny eel obtained was 32.   The results of the study show that the distribution is spread across the three stations with different abundances. food habits are classified as carnivores with the RGL of station I of 0,286, station II of 0,284, station III of 0,302. The main food consisted of the food group of platyhelmintes with a percentage of 77.59%, the food group of crustaceans and nematodes as complementary foods with a percentage of 9.80% and 8.33%, then the food group of insects, annelids, phytoplankton and plants was supplementary food with a percentage of 4%. The relationship between the length weight of black spiny eel with the regression equation y = 3,36x "“ 3,1945 shows that the growth pattern of black tilan is allometric positive and the condition factor value is 0.000206 which indicates that the black spiy eel population is in poor condition. The average water quality value of each station in Sungai Sangah is DO in the range of 5,6-6,4 mg/l, temperature 27,9-28,4 OC, pH 6,4-6,6, current velocity 21,8-32,6 m/s, brightness 66,7-67,1 cm and depth range 99-120 cm.
