Abstract

The implementation of the Tracer Study at Tanjungpura University has been carried out since 2011 and became an electronic or online system in 2015. The system and design of the online tracer study at Tanjungpura University experienced dynamics that were adjusted to internal and external factors from 2015 to 2022. The influencing factors included changes in the mandate Dikti/Belmawa, resources, and the development of tracer study instruments. These factors cause several obstacles and challenges in creating an efficient Tracer Study system and desain. The purpose of As discussion is to review an overview of the development of the Tracer Study system and design at the Tanjungpura University to create a more efficient Tracer Study system. The research method is carried out by identifying a system model developed from 2015 to 2022 with the Borg and Gall models. The search results show that there have been system and design changes four times from 2015 to 2022. Furthermore, some systems and designs are less efficient in implementing the tracer study from 2015 to 2019 by making an online surveyor input system to reduce the tracer study's essence and function. However, in 2020, the online filling process has all been directed by alumni to fill in directly.

Abstract

Belibis Lake is a post-mining lake or Pit Lake that is currently used as a tourist area, but there has been no study of information on the physical and chemical characteristics of its waters. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to spatially and temporally analyze the physical and chemical parameters of waters in Belibis Lake. The research was conducted in June-August 2023. Sampling was carried out at 4 observation stations. Water samples were taken using a water vandorn sampler on the surface of the water. Temperature, pH, and DO were measured in situ, while BOD and mercury were measured ex situ. Spatially, it was found that the highest temperature, pH, and BOD parameters were at St-04. While brightness and DO were highest in St-01. Based on the results of the anova test, the brightness parameter is significantly different. Temporally, the highest temperature and pH were in July, while brightness, DO, and BOD parameters were high in June. The parameters that were measured to be significantly different temporally were water temperature and BOD. The parameters of temperature, pH, DO, and dissolved Hg in the lake still meet the water quality standards of PP No. 22 of 2021, category class II. But not for BOD, this is due to the input of organic matter into the lake from tourism activities and previous mining activities. Parameter suhu, pH, DO, dan Hg terlarut pada danau masih memenuhi nilai baku mutu perairan PP No. 22 Tahun 2021, kategori kelas II. Abstract

Utilization of the Mempawah River for community activities can cause a decrease in water quality. Water quality monitoring can be carried out through a biological approach, namely by studying the structure of the plankton community. This study aims to analyze the community structure of phytoplankton and its relation to the physical and chemical parameters of the waters in the Mempawah River, West Kalimantan. The research was conducted from June to September 2021. The phytoplankton and physico-chemical parameters were sampled at six observation stations (St-). Phytoplankton found in the Mempawah River are 17 species classified into five classes, i.e., Chlorophyceae, Bachillariophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Zygnematophyceae, and Chrysophyceae. The average abundance of phytoplankton ranges from 10181-97031 cells/m3. The abundance at St-01, St-02, St-03, and St-04 was lower that at St-05 and St-06. The highest abundance at the first four stations was from the Cyanophyceae Order, and at St-05 and St-06 is from the Order Bachillariophyceae. The opposite condition occurs for the value of diversity, namely at the first four stations; it is higher than St-05 and St-06. The H’ index values is 0.35-1.41, the E index values is 0.26-0.73 and the C index values is 0.37-0.80. Phytoplankton abundance correlated significantly with three water quality parameters: brightness, phosphate, and nitrate, while diversity had no significant relationship with water quality parameters. Abstract

Coastal Fishing Port (PPP) is a landing place for fish caught by fishermen, including pelagic fish. The production of mackerel catches in the Rengas River PPP has decreased from 2012 to 2021. Due to the decline in mackerel fish catch production, research related to the reproduction of mackerel is needed. The aim of this research is to analyze eating habits, TKG, IKG, and IHS. The fish sampling method was carried out using the purposive sampling method. Sampling of 20 mackerel fish is carried out once a month. Mackerel fish are carnivorous fish, which can be seen from the type of mackerel mouth, namely terminal, the shape of the mackerel fish's teeth, which are canine-like, and the fish's gill filter, which is large and has few filaments. The average length of a mackerel fish's intestines is 0.59 cm of its body length, so it is classified as a carnivorous fish. The level of maturity of male gonads was highest in TKG IV and female gonads in TKG II, the average IKG of male gonads was 0.96%, and female gonads 1.13%. The liver of female mackerel fish (Scomberomorus commerson) experiences changes in weight as measured by the Hepatosomatic Index along with increasing egg growth based on TKG.

Abstract

Serantangan Lake is a post-mining lake located near an active illegal gold mining area, thus requiring an assessment of its water quality and ecological feasibility. This study aimed to identify the taxa, composition, and density of macrozoobenthos. The research was conducted from December 2024 to February 2025 at three stations using purposive sampling. Samples were collected from 8 sampling points, four times, at two-week intervals. A total of 1,078 individual macrozoobenthos were identified, consisting of 14 genera belonging to 14 families and 9 orders: Mesogastropoda, Architaenioglossa, Decapoda, Haplotaxida, Diptera, Coleoptera, Ephemeroptera, Odonata, and Hemiptera. The highest composition at Stations I and II was dominated by Odonata, while Station III was dominated by Haplotaxida (Tubifex sp.). Station I indicated good water quality, characterized by the presence of intolerant taxa such as Baetidae and Tipulidae. Station II reflected moderate quality, with a dominance of semi-tolerant taxa. Station III showed the lowest quality due to the dominance of tolerant taxa and low diversity. Anthropogenic activities, such as fish harvesting and illegal gold mining (PETI), are suspected to be the main factors affecting the macrozoobenthic community structure in the lake.
