This research is motivated by the significant challenges faced by slow learners in mathematics learning in lower grades, where difficulties understanding abstract concepts and processing information often hinder their academic progress. The focus of this research is to review and synthesize various literature on the types of mathematics learning difficulties experienced by slow learners and to identify the most effective intervention strategies. As a crucial step, this research uses a systematic literature review method with a descriptive qualitative approach, analyzing various relevant journals and scientific articles. The main findings of this literature review confirm that the main difficulties of slow learners include understanding number concepts, arithmetic operations, and solving word problems. The literature consistently recommends intervention through the use of concrete and visual learning media and an individualized approach. In conclusion, addressing mathematics learning difficulties in slow learners requires an adaptive approach. This study recommends the importance of early identification of student capacity, teacher training in inclusive pedagogy, and curriculum adaptation to maximize each child's potential. ABSTRAKSPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tantangan signifikan yang dihadapi anak berkebutuhan khusus (ABK) kategori slow learner dalam pembelajaran matematika di kelas rendah, di mana kesulitan memahami konsep abstrak dan memproses informasi seringkali menghambat kemajuan akademis mereka. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji dan mensintesiskan berbagai literatur mengenai jenis kesulitan belajar matematika yang dialami siswa slow learner serta mengidentifikasi strategi intervensi yang paling efektif. Sebagai langkah penting, penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur sistematis (Systematic Literature Review) dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, menganalisis berbagai jurnal dan artikel ilmiah yang relevan. Temuan utama dari telaah pustaka ini menegaskan bahwa kesulitan utama siswa slow learner mencakup pemahaman konsep bilangan, operasi hitung, dan pemecahan soal cerita. Literatur secara konsisten merekomendasikan intervensi melalui penggunaan media pembelajaran konkret dan visual serta pendekatan individual. Kesimpulannya, penanganan kesulitan belajar matematika pada siswa slow learner memerlukan pendekatan yang adaptif. Studi ini merekomendasikan pentingnya identifikasi dini kapasitas siswa, pelatihan guru dalam pedagogi inklusif, dan adaptasi kurikulum untuk memaksimalkan potensi setiap anak.
