<![CDATA[The use of learning models that teachers apply when teaching can affect learning achievement and student retention skills. Learning from the environment can be a source of contextual learning to enrich students' cognitive knowledge. This study uses two classes: the experimental class uses guided inquiry model, while the control class uses conventional learning. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of inquiry model based on local potency to student retention. The method used in this research is experiment with Pretest-Postest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The result of the research shows that the guided inquiry model based on the potential of empty palm fruit bunches with Sig 2 tailed test results 0.01 <0.05 has an effect on student retention result.Penggunaan model belajar yang diterapkan guru saat mengajar dapat memengaruhi kemampuan hasil belajar dan retensi siswa. Pembelajaran dari lingkungan dapat dijadikan sumber belajar kontekstual untuk memperkaya pengetahuan kognitif siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh model inkuiri terbimbing berbasis potensi daerah terhadap retensi siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah eksperimen dengan Pretest-Postest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan model inkuiri terbimbing berbasis potensi daerah tandan kosong sawit dengan hasil uji Sig 2 tailed 0.01 < 0.05 berpengaruh terhadap hasil retensi siswa.]]>
