PENERAPAN REALISTIC MATHEMATICS EDUCATION UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA KELAS V

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' critical thinking abilities of fifth grade through the application of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). This research is action research with a model Kemmis and Mc Taggart through the planning, implementation and observation, and reflection. The subjects were fifth grade students of SDN Kalitanjung II Cirebon 2015/2016 academic year consisting of 22 students. Instruments used include: observation sheet activities of teacher, student activity sheets observation, critical thinking skills test questions, the questionnaires, and field notes. The results showed the students the ability to think on average reached a critical criterion. In addition, activities of teachers and students very successfully.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V melalui penerapan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart melalui tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan observasi, serta refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V SDN Kalitanjung II Kota Cirebon tahun ajaran 2015/2016 yang terdiri dari 22 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan di antaranya: lembar observasi kegiatan guru, lembar observasi kegiatan siswa, soal tes kemampuan berpikir kritis, lembar wawancara, dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir siswa rata-rata mencapai kriteria kritis. Selain itu, kegiatan guru dan siswa terlaksana dengan sangat baik.
