<![CDATA[ABSTRAK Informasi mengenai Suhu Permukaan Tanah (SPT) perlu diketahui. Mengingat bahwa SPT sebagai faktor yang mempengaruhi terhadap perubahan iklim global. Untuk menghindari terjadinya Pulau Panas Perkotaan maka diperlukan informasi tentang SPT. Dimana, dalam penelitian ini dilakukan proses identifikasi dengan memanfaatkan gelombang thermal (band thermal) yang terdapat pada Citra Landsat 8. Proses identifikasi dilakukan dengan metode konversi Digital Number. Teknik yang digunakan yaitu kombinasi Penginderaan Jauh dan Sistem Informasi Geografis sebagai alat untuk pengolahan dan analisis data. Hasil penelitian memberikan informasi bahwa SPT tertinggi di daerah MEBIDANG yaitu sekitar 250 C (Sedang). Secara umum, SPT di daerah MEBIDANG yaitu berkisar antara 10 – 200 C (Rendah – Sedang). Sementara, informasi yang diperoleh secara lebih khusus, di daerah inti kota yaitu SPT di Kota Medan menggambarkan masih tergolong sedang yaitu sekitar 15 – 200 C.ABSTRACTInformation on Land Surface Temperature (LST) should be known.
