Indonesia is a country that has diverse cultures, customs, races, tribes, ethnicities, religions and many more. This diversity is framed in the motto Bhineka Tunggal Ika which means "different but still one". Therefore, it is necessary to instill an attitude of tolerance in students so that they can appreciate and accept all kinds of differences that exist. Education is considered the most effective way to instill tolerant behavior and respect and appreciate diversity, in the form of implementing multicultural education through student learning in the classroom and school environment. The purpose of this study is for students to understand differences so that tolerance, justice and social equality are created and harmony is created through multicultural education. The method used is qualitative literature. Data were obtained from books, journals, articles and online seminar programs related to education. The results of the study indicate that with the inclusion of multicultural education in the education curriculum in schools, tolerance will be created between students with diverse cultures, customs, races, tribes, ethnicities, and religions.
