The Community Service Program (KKN) is one of the implementations of the university’s tridharma, in which students not only learn on campus but also take part directly in community life. The activities were carried out in Cintaasih Village, Garut Regency. The program began with a field survey followed by discussions with village officials. The survey and discussions identified two main problems in Cintaasih Village: limited learning facilities for children and the accumulation of waste. To address these issues, two flagship programs were implemented. First, the establishment of a Reading Garden aimed at enhancing children’s literacy and interest in reading. Second, the “Kolabor Asih” program, realized through the creation of an “I Love Cintaasih” village icon made from ecobricks, serving as a creative educational effort on plastic waste management. The implementation was carried out collaboratively using a Community-Based Participatory Approach, ensuring active involvement from residents, especially elementary school children. The results show an increase in children’s interest in reading and a growing awareness among residents about transforming plastic waste into useful and aesthetically pleasing creations. Moving forward, the program is expected to continue independently with community participation and serve as an inspiration for other villages in developing literacy and sustainable environmental management.
