<![CDATA[Abstract This study aims to assess the effectiveness of fishing operations and analyze the environmental friendliness criteria of bottom longline fishing gear. This research was conducted in the waters of Labetawi Village, Tual City. The data collected included descriptions of fishing gear, operating techniques, fishing area descriptions, operating time, catch results, and the environmental friendliness criteria of bottom longline fishing gear. The catch obtained was identified by type and quantity, then measured for length and weight. Data on fishing operations using bottom longline fishing gear will be described using descriptive methods and then analyzed for environmental friendliness criteria. Effective longline fishing gear operation requires attention to water conditions, aquatic substrates, bait, and speed in setting the longline fishing gear. Based on the analysis of environmental friendliness criteria, bottom longline fishing gear is a very environmentally friendly fishing gear.]]>
