<![CDATA[The utilization of the surrounding environment as a learning resource is an effective strategy to create contextual, meaningful, and engaging learning experiences for elementary school students. This study was motivated by the need for innovative learning approaches that connect school subjects with students' real-life contexts, particularly those found in their immediate surroundings. The purpose of this study was to describe the forms, processes, and impacts of utilizing the local environment as a learning resource at SDN 4 Mamben Lauk. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation as data collection techniques. The informants included the principal, teachers, students, and parents. The results showed that the environment was used across various subjects such as science, mathematics, and Indonesian language through learning activities conducted in gardens, shops, rivers, and nearby homes. These practices positively affected students' motivation, active participation, and conceptual understanding. Moreover, environmental-based learning fostered stronger involvement from parents and the local community in the educational process. The study concludes that the surrounding environment has great potential as a learning resource that can enrich students' learning experiences if used systematically, creatively, and collaboratively between schools and communities. It is recommended that teacher training be enhanced and contextual, locally-based curricula be developed.]]>
