Rosdiana. 2025. Improving Official Letter Writing Skills through a Contextual Approach among Eighth-Grade Students of MTSN 1 Takalar. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar.This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed at improving students’ learning outcomes in writing official letters through the application of a contextual learning approach among eighth-grade students of MTSN 1 Takalar. The research subjects were 29 students enrolled in the 2025/2026 academic year. The study was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of four meetings, including an end-of-cycle test. The findings show that the implementation of the contextual approach improved students’ official letter writing skills. In Cycle I, students obtained an average score of 72.5, categorized as moderate. In Cycle II, the average score increased to 81, categorized as high. These results indicate that the contextual learning approach can effectively enhance the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at MTSN 1 Takalar. Based on these findings, it is recommended that teachers, especially those teaching eighth-grade classes at MTSN 1 Takalar, apply the contextual learning approach to further improve students’ learning outcomes.
