This community service program aims to increase legal literacy and awareness among the Walantaka District community regarding the practice of illegal polygamy and marriage without the consent of the legal wife, which are classified as criminal offenses under Article 279 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) and Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage. Illegal polygamy remains prevalent due to a lack of legal understanding, a patriarchal culture, and the perception that marriage is a private matter. The program's implementation methods included legal counseling, focus group discussions, legal consultations, and assistance to the community and victims. The results of the program indicate an increase in public understanding of the legal consequences of illegal polygamy and the legal rights of legal wives as victims. This activity also encouraged the community to report violations of marital law through the criminal offense mechanism. This program contributes to strengthening legal awareness, women's protection, and the effectiveness of law enforcement at the local level.
