<![CDATA[Abstract: In principle, this article aims to examine the nature of politics according to Pope Francis' teachings. This study helps us to clearly understand the essence of politics, which is inherently linked to issues of welfare. Who should be involved in this type of politics? Of course, we can mention the government and society. Both parties have distinct roles. The presence of leaders should ideally contribute to the birth of social justice in shared life, while society acts as a watchdog to ensure the government's performance is running smoothly. From this thesis, we attempt to explain the problems of democracy in Indonesia, which sometimes remain far from ideal. This paper will then offer solutions to the chaotic Indonesian politics using Pope Francis' perspective on the ideal type of leader and the duties a leader should perform. To structure the explanation of Pope Francis' ideas within the Indonesian political context, we employed a literature review method to complete this paper. We believe that if the ideas of the politics of love, humanity, and friendship are implemented, a clean and honest democratic climate in Indonesia can be realized. Abstrak: Secara prinsipil, artikel ini dimaksudkan untuk mengkaji hakikat dari politik menurut ajaran Paus Fransiskus. Kajian ini membantu kita untuk kemudian melihat secara jernih esensi politik yang memang melekat dengan isu kesejahteraan. Siapa yang kemudian harus terlibat dalam politik macam ini? Tentu saja kita bisa menyebut pemerintah dan juga masyarakat. Kedua belah pihak punya tugas yang berbeda. Kehadiran dari pemimpin itu idealnya bisa memberikan kontribusi pada lahirnya keadilan sosial dalam hidup bersama sedangkan masyarakat hadir sebagai pengawas untuk memastikan bahwa kinerja pemerintah berjalan baik. Dari tesis ini, maka kemudian kami mencoba untuk menguraikan permasalahan demokrasi di Indonesia yang kadang masih jauh dari harapan. Setelah itu, tulisan ini akan memberikan solusi atas carut-marut politik Indonesia dengan menggunakan perspektif Paus Fransiskus tentang tipe pemimpin ideal dan apa tugas-tugas yang harus dilakukan seorang pemimpin. Agar terstruktur menguraikan gagasan Paus Fransiskus ini dengan konteks politik Indonesia maka kami menggunakan metode studi pustaka untuk penyelesaian naskah ini. Kami melihat bahwa jika gagasan tentang politik kasih, kemanusiaan dan persahabatan ini diterapkan, maka iklim demokrasi di Indonesia yang bersih dan jujur bisa direalisasikan.]]>
