<![CDATA[This study examines socialist realism in the short story collection Mata Yang Enak Dipandang by Ahmad Tohari. The focus of this study is to describe the principles of socialist realism that are the background of the creation of Ahmad Tohari's works. The study was conducted using a literature study approach with reading and note-taking data collection techniques. The content analysis technique was carried out by identifying the principles of socialist realism in Mata Yang Enak Dipandang. The results of the study show that the principles of socialist realism, characterized by class awareness of the negative impacts of capitalism and prioritizing humanity, are present in this short story collection by Ahmad Tohari. This study contributes to literary studies by showing how socialist realism becomes the basis of a literary work. In addition, this study also paves the way for further exploration of socialist realism in literary works. ]]>
