This awareness raising activity regarding chickenpox (varicella) awareness was conducted due to the high rate of transmission of this disease, especially in children, as well as the still low public knowledge about its symptoms, prevention, and treatment. This community service aimed to improve the understanding of mothers at the Sakura Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) through direct education. The methods used included a pre-test, material delivery using leaflets, interactive discussions, and a post-test to measure knowledge gains. The activity was attended by 15 participants. The results showed that before the counseling, some participants were in the poor knowledge category (53.33%), but after the counseling, all participants (100%) were in the good category. This improvement proves that health education is effective in improving public understanding of varicella. The results of this activity are important as a basis for efforts to prevent chickenpox transmission in the family and community environment.
