PENGARUH STRES AKADEMIK PADA MAHASISWA TINGKAT AKHIR YANG MENYUSUN SKRIPSI DI UNIVERSITAS SWASTA DAN NEGERI

Abstract

This study found that the type of educational institution, whether public or private university, does not significantly affect the academic stress levels of final-year students completing their thesis. Although students from public universities had higher academic stress scores (59.2) compared to those from private universities (57.3), the linear regression test showed no statistically significant difference (R² = 0.00668; p = 0.189). The study involved 260 students who completed the Educational Stress Scale for Adolescents (ESSA) questionnaire to measure academic stress levels. The results indicate that other factors, such as resilience and social support, play a more dominant role in influencing academic stress. These findings highlight the importance of psychological support programs and stress management in educational institutions to assist students in coping with academic challenges during the final stages of their studies. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa jenis institusi pendidikan, baik universitas negeri maupun swasta, tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tingkat stres akademik mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang sedang menyusun skripsi. Meskipun mahasiswa dari universitas negeri menunjukkan skor stres akademik yang lebih tinggi (59,2) dibandingkan mahasiswa dari universitas swasta (57,3), hasil uji regresi linear menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan ini tidak signifikan secara statistik (R² = 0,00668; p = 0,189). Penelitian ini melibatkan 260 mahasiswa yang mengisi kuesioner Educational Stress Scale for Adolescents (ESSA) untuk mengukur tingkat stres akademik. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa faktor lain, seperti resiliensi dan dukungan sosial, lebih dominan dalam mempengaruhi stres akademik. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya program dukungan psikologis dan manajemen stres di institusi pendidikan untuk membantu mahasiswa menghadapi tantangan akademik pada tahap akhir studi.
