Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengukur pengaruh pendekatan saintifik berbantuan media gambar terhadap keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 2 Plered. Penelitian ini mengaplikasikan pendekatan kuantitatif berdesain kuasi eksperimen dengan tipe one group pretest-posttest dan melibatkan 28 siswa yang dipilih melalui teknik Purposive Sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik parametrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan nilai rata-rata siswa dari 46,86% (pretest) menjadi 79,46% (posttest), dengan peningkatan pada setiap aspek penilaian: aspek isi meningkat sebesar 30,97%, organisasi 28,55%, kosakata 29,45%, kalimat 27,3%, dan mekanisme 32,5%. Uji hipotesis dengan regresi linear sederhana dan uji F menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan saintifik berbantuan media gambar berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa.The Effect of Image-Assisted Scientific Approach on Explanatory Text Writing Skills of Students of SMP Negeri 2 PleredThe purpose of this study is to measure the influence of the scientific approach assisted by image media on the explanatory text writing skills of grade IX students of SMP Negeri 2 Plered. This study applied a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest type and involved 28 students selected through the Purposive Sampling technique. Data was collected through tests, observations, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using parametric statistical tests. The results showed a significant increase in students' average scores from 46.86% (pretest) to 79.46% (posttest), with an increase in each aspect of assessment: content aspects increased by 30.97%, organization by 28.55%, vocabulary by 29.45%, sentences by 27.3%, and mechanism by 32.5%. Hypothesis tests with simple linear regression and F test showed that the scientific approach assisted by image media had a significant effect on improving students' explanatory text writing skills.
