This study aims to determine the level of ecological literacy among students in sustainable compost fertilizer management, as well as the factors influencing it and the role of students in ecological practices and awareness. A qualitative method was employed with data collection through interviews and documentation at UPTD Peternakan Sihitang, analyzed thematically using qualitative analysis software. The results indicate that students' ecological literacy level is quite good in terms of knowledge aspects, however field practice involvement remains limited. External factors are more dominant than internal factors in influencing literacy. Students' roles are predominantly in awareness and positive attitudes, while concrete actions need to be enhanced. The findings underscore the importance of campus-UPTD collaboration to improve applicable and sustainable ecological literacy.
