<![CDATA[This study was motivated by the condition of male handball athletes in Demak City who still demonstrate relatively low physical strength, particularly in the arm muscles, as well as the limited variety of training methods applied. The research employed a quantitative approach using a pretest–posttest experimental design, utilizing the two hand medicine ball put test with a population of 16 athletes. Sampling was conducted through ordinal pairing by ranking the measurement results from the highest to the lowest scores, then alternately assigning subjects into the treatment groups. This procedure was intended to ensure a more balanced distribution of initial abilities between groups. The data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, normality testing, homogeneity testing, and hypothesis testing. The results indicated that the mean pretest score of the bench press training group was 254.63, which increased to 355.63 in the posttest. Meanwhile, the butterfly training group had a mean pretest score of 253.50, which increased to 295.63 in the posttest, with an average improvement of 42.13. Based on the analysis, the significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) was 0.006. Since the Sig. value of 0.006 is less than 0.05, H0 was rejected and Ha3 was accepted. In addition, the mean difference in improvement for the bench press group was higher than that of the butterfly group (101.00 > 42.13). It can be concluded that bench press training has a greater effect on improving arm muscle power compared to butterfly training.]]>
