Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of work discipline and its impact on teachers’ performance at SDN Kalirejo Bangil. The background of this research is based on the importance of work discipline as a determining factor in improving teacher performance, which directly influences the quality of education. The focus of this study includes the forms of work discipline implementation, supporting and inhibiting factors, as well as its influence on teachers’ performance in carrying out their professional duties and responsibilities. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the principal and teachers. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of work discipline at SDN Kalirejo Bangil has been fairly well-executed, as reflected in punctuality, adherence to regulations, and responsibility in task performance. Supporting factors include the principal’s firm leadership, teachers’ internal motivation, and a conducive work environment, while inhibiting factors consist of limited facilities and high administrative workload. The study concludes that good work discipline positively influences the improvement of teachers’ performance, particularly in time discipline, teaching quality, and professional responsibility. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi disiplin kerja terhadap kinerja guru di SDN Kalirejo Bangil. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari fenomena rendahnya kedisiplinan sebagian guru yang berdampak pada efektivitas proses pembelajaran dan pencapaian hasil kerja yang optimal. Fokus penelitian diarahkan pada bentuk penerapan disiplin kerja, faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi tingkat kedisiplinan, serta pengaruhnya terhadap kinerja guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi terhadap kepala sekolah, guru, serta tenaga kependidikan. Analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi disiplin kerja di SDN Kalirejo Bangil dilakukan melalui pengawasan kehadiran, ketepatan waktu, tanggung jawab terhadap tugas, serta kepatuhan terhadap tata tertib sekolah. Faktor pendukung meliputi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah yang tegas dan teladan, serta budaya kerja yang kondusif, sedangkan faktor penghambat berasal dari motivasi individu yang fluktuatif dan pengawasan yang belum konsisten. Secara keseluruhan, penerapan disiplin kerja yang baik berkontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan kinerja guru, ditandai dengan meningkatnya tanggung jawab, produktivitas, dan kualitas pembelajaran. Simpulan dari penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa disiplin kerja merupakan elemen penting dalam membangun profesionalisme dan kinerja guru secara berkelanjutan di lingkungan sekolah dasar.
