Being a good teacher requires quality and good performance to realize a quality teaching and learning process. Teacher performance is the result of the work achieved by the teacher in the teaching process in the work assigned to him. Therefore, there is a need for motivation for teacher performance. In this research, a research method was carried out using literature study. The preparations made were by searching for and collecting library data related to the topic of work motivation on teacher performance, then the data was analyzed in depth. The results of the research according to there are six theories of teacher motivation including hierarchy of needs theory, two-factor theory, ERG theory, expectancy theory, equity theory and goal setting theory. Theories that influence motivation on teacher performance include the work itself, rewards and compensation, working conditions, and professional growth. It is important for employers to know well the various motivation theories and apply them in the work environment to provide teacher motivation to improve the quality of work results.
