PENGARUH TEKNIK BIBLIOTERAPI TERHADAP KEPERCAYAAN DIRI SISWA DI SMP NEGERI 6 BUKITTINGGI

Abstract

The background of this research is that there are still students who have problems with self-confidence abilities. As there are still students when given the opportunity to tell stories, many students are silent, there are still students who are not brave in expressing opinions, there are still students who appear in cold sweat, there are still students who are shy in communicating. The study aims to determine the effect of bibliotherapy techniques on student self-confidence at SMP Negeri 6 Bukittinggi. This type of research is Pre-Experimental Design using the One Group Pretest-Posttest model. The research population was class VII. The research sample amounted to 8 people who were taken with purposive sampling technique, which means that the technique of determining the sample using certain considerations. Data were collected using the student self-confidence preparation scale. The data analysis technique used Wilcoxon test. The results showed that there was an influence on students' self-confidence before being given group counseling services with bibliotherapy techniques in the moderate category with a mean of 124.88 and an influence after being given group counseling services with bibliotherapy techniques in the high category with an increased score with a mean of 140.851. This statement is supported by the results of the asymp sig (2-tailed) obtained a value of 0.008 which means it is smaller than the α value of 0.05. So it can be said that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, meaning that group counseling with bibliotherapy techniques has an effect on increasing student confidence at SMP Negeri 6 Bukittinggi.
