Emotional exhaustion in adolescents who become a place to confide in their social environment is a phenomenon that is increasingly widespread but rarely understood seriously. Adolescents who act as primary listeners are often seen as strong, mature, and empathetic individuals. However, behind this role, there is a hidden psychological burden in the form of chronic emotional exhaustion, which arises from the repeated absorption of negative emotions from others without a space capable of transmitting or processing them. This study aims to describe the forms of emotional exhaustion experienced by adolescents in this regard and to examine strategies that can be used to maintain their mental health position. Based on a review of psychological theory and previous research findings, it was found that caring exhaustion in adolescents is often manifested in the form of mental exhaustion, decreased empathy, feelings of emptiness, and social burnout. Among them, coping strategies include practicing self-compassion, regulating emotions with others, building healthy relationships, and creating a safe space to manage emotions. This suggests that uncontrolled empathy may be a double-edged sword for adolescents, so there must be a balance between social and personal relationships. It is hoped that the results of this study can generate discussions about the importance of emotional literacy and mental strength in adolescent social relationships, especially for those of us who consistently treat everyone.
