The Indonesian government has taken significant steps to reform the education system by granting schools greater flexibility in designing and implementing curricula that align with students' characteristics and needs, while also enabling more relevant and context-based learning approaches. This research analyzes the active learning strategies implemented at SMPI-PK Muhammadiyah Delanggu based on the progressive approach by William O. Stanley. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method in the educational environment of JHS Islam Special Program Muhammadiyah Delanggu through classroom observations, teacher interviews, and surveys distributed to 33 eighth-grade students. SMPI-PK Muhammadiyah Delanggu has applied active learning within the Kurikulum Merdeka, adopting progressive education concepts in its development. This implementation is evident in the learning processes, teaching methods, and assessment systems (evaluation and reflection).
