The development of digital technology, especially social media, has changed the lives of children such as the way they communicate, and the way they learn in elementary school, including religious literacy. As a result of exposure to diverse and unfiltered information on social media, children do not understand religious principles. This study aims to observe how social media affects children's religious literacy in elementary schools and how they understand and deal with problems. This study was conducted qualitatively, using a literature study approach and observation of children's activities on various social media platforms that contain religious content. The results of the study indicate that social media can function as an effective tool to improve children's religious literacy by providing interesting, interactive, and easily accessible religious content. Religious education can be embedded contextually and relevant to children's daily lives by using visual and audio-visual educational materials. Social media also teaches students tolerance and openness to religious differences. However, this study also found that misinformation and negative content have the potential to influence children's understanding if they do not get help from parents and teachers. Therefore, collaboration between families, schools, and social media managers is very important to ensure that social media is used wisely and in a targeted manner to form moderate and inclusive religious literacy for children in elementary schools. This study recommends the integration of social media in school learning to strengthen students' religious literacy.
