This study attempts to describe the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in character building for students, the implementation carried out by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in character building for students, factors that influence the character building for students through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) education and supporting factors and inhibiting factors in the implementation of learning in character building for students of class IX (Nine) MTs Al-Matholi Bandar Mataram. This study uses a qualitative approach. The collection method is by observation, interviews, documentation and data validation. The results of this study are: 1). The implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in character building for students uses several approaches by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers so that students can have good character. 2). Factors that influence character building through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning include internal and external factors. 3). Supporting factors include the role of the family, especially parents, the role of the school including the role of teachers and friends and the role of the surrounding environment. And inhibiting factors in character building for students in class IX (Nine) MTs Al-Matholi Bandar Mataram.
