This research aims to develop a picture storybook based on Augmented Reality (AR) for reading comprehension learning in fourth grade elementary school students. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects were fourth grade students at SD Negeri 91 Pekanbaru. Data collection was carried out through validation questionnaires by material experts, media experts, and linguists, as well as response questionnaires from teachers and students. The results showed that the AR-based picture storybook media has a very high validity level with an Aiken's V index of 0.91. The practicality test results showed an average score of 90% from students and 96% from teachers, both categorized as "very practical". This media can present virtual 3D objects concretely, in accordance with the characteristics of elementary school students who are at the concrete operational stage according to Piaget's theory. The development of this media is also in line with the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum which emphasizes student-centered learning, creativity, innovation, and technology utilization.
