This research aims to describe the methods used to internalize the values of Islamic Religious Education at SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Puar in the formation of students’ religious character and look at the supporting and inhibiting factors in the formation of religious character through existing programs at school such as kultum, tahfidz, and celebrations religious. And there is also a program from the government for the formation of religious character, namely collaborative youth wirid. This type of qualitative research is descriptive, with data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. The research is intended to find out what methods and supporting and inhibiting factors are in the formation of students’ religious character. Based on the results of research conducted by the outhor at SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Puar, teachers use four methods, namely example, habituation, advice and rewards and punishment, wich are the teachers’ efforts to shape students’ religious character. Supporting factors based on interview results include school residents and teachers in their efforts to shape students’ religious character, and inhibiting factor include students who mix with children who are not in school, causing their behavior to deviate.
