Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Qur’an reading training for the women congregation of Nurul Bayyinah Mosque and to determine the effectiveness of this activity in enhancing their ability to read the Qur’an correctly in accordance with the rules of tajwid. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The subjects of the study include the instructor and the participants of the training program. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation during the course of the training. The results show that the training activities are conducted in a structured manner using the talaqqi and musyafahah methods, which emphasize direct practice and correction of recitation. Through weekly sessions held regularly, the participants demonstrated significant improvement in their Qur’an reading skills, both in fluency and accuracy of tajwid. Furthermore, the activity has also increased the participants’ spiritual motivation and strengthened the sense of togetherness among the congregation. Thus, the Qur’an reading training at Nurul Bayyinah Mosque has proven effective in enhancing Qur’anic literacy and reinforcing the mosque’s role as a center for Islamic learning within the community.
