<![CDATA[This study aims to analyse the local wisdom in weton calculation within the Javanese traditional marriage practices in Karang Tanjung Village, Padang Ratu Sub-district, Central Lampung Regency. This local wisdom includes aspects of weton calculation based on the Javanese calendar, which is believed to influence the success and harmony of marriage. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach, using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques.The study is analysed using the theory of symbolic interpretation, which emphasises that cultural practices contain symbolic meanings understood collectively by the community. The purpose of this research is to explore the meaning of local wisdom in weton calculation, the factors that sustain its use, and the forms and meanings embedded in its application in Javanese traditional marriage.The results show that, firstly, weton calculation is not merely a predictive method but also reflects local values such as mutual cooperation, simplicity, kinship, and mutual respect, as manifested in the preparation and implementation of traditional weddings involving active community participation. Secondly, the factors that encourage the continued use of weton calculation include adherence to local customs and traditions, belief in the accuracy of weton predictions, and personal experiences. Thirdly, weton calculation, which is based on the combination of days and market cycles in the Javanese calendar, plays a significant role in determining auspicious days for wedding ceremonies, involving the use of the Javanese calendar system, observation of lunar cycles, and interpretation of symbolic meanings embedded in each combination.]]>
