This study aims to determine the effect of the inside-outside-circle (IOC) learning model on student learning activity and understanding in Social Studies in Fourth Graders at SDN 4 Santong. This research is an experimental study. The population was all 27 fourth-grade students at SDN 4 Santong. Since the population is less than 100, this study sampled all of them. The research design used a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design, with data analysis using a statistical t-test. The results showed that the t-value was 0.315, greater than the alpha value (0.315 > 0.05), indicating no significant difference between the pretest and control groups. Meanwhile, the posttest results for the experimental and control classes had a significance value of <0.05, namely 0.003 <0.05, indicating a difference between the posttests of the experimental and control classes. The test results showed a significant effect between the inside-outside-circle learning model on student engagement and understanding in social studies in fourth-grade students at SDN 4 Santong.
