<![CDATA[This study aimed at determining: the analysis of student’ mathematical problem solving ability in the arithmetic sequence material at class Xl of Al Ma’shum sidodadi. This research used descriptive qualitative research type. The subjects of this study were 30 students of class MIA 2 Al Ma’shum Sidodadi Kisaran, who were selected from each study using a purposive sample. Data collections instruments used included test questions in the form of 2 questions that refered to indicator of students’ problem solving ability including understanding problems, planning solutions, implementing plans, and reinterpresting them. The data analysis technique used in this study was to asses the results of student of student answers and determine the percentage of students problem solving abilities viewed from the high, medium, and low categories. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the ability to solve problems at a high level are 16 students as much as 53.3%, the ability to solve problem at a moderate level are 3 student as much as 10 %, the ability to solve problems at a low level are 11 students as mucg as 36.7%. ]]>
