Problem-solving ability is considered as a crucial skill that contributes to academic achievement and individual growth. This ability includes the steps of identifying problems, planning solutions, and implementing successful solutions. According to initial observations conducted at SMPN 1 Tanjung Emas and SMPN 1 Sungayang, students' skills in this area are still lacking. The lack of educational resources or teaching materials to improve mathematical problem-solving skills is the underlying cause of this problem. In this regard, this study aims to develop an e-comic that applies the PBL model as an alternative to further improve the ability of grade VIII junior high school students in solving mathematical problems. This study applies the Plomp model, which is divided into three stages: initial analysis, development, and evaluation used in the Research and Development (R&D) methodology in this study. To evaluate the quality of e-comics, three criteria are used: validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Various instruments used to collect data in the form of observation sheets, validation sheets, questionnaires, interview guidelines, and test questions, serve as tools to assess students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. According to the analysis results, e-comic obtained a validity level of 3.57, the learning module obtained a validity level of 3.6, and LKPD obtained a validity level of 3.59. With scores of 86%, 85.1%, and 87.87% respectively, this learning tool is also considered very practical. The findings of the study indicate that the mathematics e-comic developed using a problem-based learning approach is easy to use and has met the criteria to be a valid educational medium. Keywords: Problem Based Learning, LKPD, E-Comic, Mathematical Problem Solving Ability
