Abstract

Work discipline is a fundamental aspect in developing human resources who comply with regulations and contribute to improving performance quality, particularly for gas station operators who interact directly with customers. Self-control and social support are assumed to play an important role in shaping such disciplined behavior. Therefore, this study aims to examine the influence of self-control and social support on the level of work discipline among gas station operators at Company X. Data were collected using questionnaires. Participants were recruited using a purposive sampling technique, with a total of 291 participants involved. The results indicate that self-control and social support jointly have a significant effect on work discipline, contributing 41.3%. These findings suggest that enhancing self-control abilities and ensuring adequate social support can foster better work discipline among gas station operators. Hence, it is recommended that the company implement training programs related to self-control and strengthen social support systems in the workplace to promote higher employee discipline. AbstrakKedisiplinan kerja merupakan aspek fundamental dalam pengembangan sumber daya manusia yang patuh terhadap aturan serta berkontribusi pada peningkatan mutu kinerja, khususnya bagi petugas SPBU yang berhubungan langsung dengan konsumen. Faktor kontrol diri dan dukungan sosial diperkirakan memiliki peranan penting dalam membentuk perilaku disiplin tersebut. Berdasarkan hal itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kontrol diri dan dukungan sosial terhadap tingkat kedisiplinan kerja operator SPBU di Perusahaan X. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui instrumen berupa skala. Pengambilan partisipan dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan total partisipan yang terlibat sebanyak 291 partisipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kontrol diri dan dukungan sosial secara simultan memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap disiplin kerja dengan sumbangan sebesar 41,3%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan mengendalikan diri serta tersedianya dukungan sosial yang memadai dapat mendorong peningkatan disiplin kerja pada operator SPBU. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar pihak perusahaan mengimplementasikan program pelatihan terkait kontrol diri serta memperkuat sistem dukungan sosial di lingkungan kerja untuk mendukung peningkatan kedisiplinan karyawan.
