The purpose of this study was to enhance students' critical thinking abilities during the learning process by using the recitation approach. The Kemmis McTaggart cycle, which was applied over two cycles, was the model for the complete procedure and phases that the researcher employed in this Classroom Action Research (CAR). Every cycle has phases for planning, carrying out actions, observing, and reflecting. This study anticipates that the recitation/assignment strategy will enhance students' critical thinking abilities. Both qualitative and quantitative descriptive data-gathering methods were used, including observation, testing, documentation, and data analysis. The study's findings indicate that the recitation approach can enhance students' critical thinking abilities. This effect is demonstrated by the fact that students' average critical thinking abilities score increased from 37.5% prior to the cycle to 75% during cycle I and then to 100% during cycle II. Additionally, there was a notable rise in student involvement and activity during the learning process. Therefore, it can be said that using the recitation approach helps students develop their critical thinking abilities.
