Abstract

The background of this research is the increasing interest and trend in student entrepreneurship research globally that occurred due to Covid-19. This study aims to analyze the development of student entrepreneurship research trends from 2020 to 2023. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using a systematic literature review method and is not field-based. This study used the Scopus database with a sample of 40 international articles that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The analysis shows a significant increase in the number of research article publications related to student entrepreneurship analysis from 2020 to 2023. Student interest and productivity in entrepreneurship-related research and article writing continued to increase over the four-year period. A total of 4,166 scientific papers were published across various research areas. In 2020, there were 938 publications, 968 in 2021, 1063 in 2022, and a peak in 2023 with 1197 articles related to student entrepreneurship. This indicates that the number of published articles continues to increase annually, reflecting the growing interest and focus in entrepreneurship research among students. The increase in the number of publications accelerated in subsequent years. The increase from 2021 to 2022 was approximately 10%, and from 2022 to 2023 was approximately 13%. This indicates that this topic is becoming increasingly popular and relevant among academics. The peak publication year occurred in 2023 with 1197 articles, confirming that year was the peak year for research activity on student entrepreneurship during the observed period.
