Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers in shaping the social maturity of blind students in inclusive schools. The background of this study is based on the importance of developing social aspects for students with special needs who often face obstacles in social interaction and self-confidence. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design at Cahaya Medan Private High School. The research informants consisted of BK teachers and three blind students selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that BK teachers play a strategic role through adaptive services, including self-confidence development, communication skills development, social interaction training, and emotional support. This role has an impact on increasing independence, communication skills, and positive social relationships of blind students.
