<![CDATA[Studies on the book Syi’ir Ngudi Susilo by KH. Bisri Mustofa have been widely conducted; however, research related to the progress values contained within it has often been overlooked. Many Scholars tend to consider traditional Muslims as stagnant and less supportive of progress, but the poem written in 1954 seems to suggest otherwise. To analyze the progress values contained in the book Syi’ir Ngudi Susilo, this study employes a library research approach with Ahmet T. Kuru’s perspective on the values of the development of early Islamic civilization. This study highlights the progress values in the book, namely: first, the value of etiquette; second, discipline; third, egalitarianism; fourth, cleanliness; fifth, independence; and sixth, the importance of having curiosity (a deep desire to learn) to study various fields of knowledge. The fact that this book is taught in elementary-level children in various school (pesantren and madrasah) shows that KH. Bisri Mustofa has strived to instill progress values into students and Muslim children in general, since in early age.]]>
