Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of professional competence and interpersonal communication on organizational commitment through job satisfaction at the Public Appraisal Services Office (KJPP) in Malang City. Professional competence and interpersonal communication are important factors in improving the quality of human resources and building employee loyalty to the organization. In the context of professional service organizations, job satisfaction is a variable that can strengthen the relationship between individual abilities and employee engagement with the organization. This study used a quantitative approach with explanatory research. The population in this study was all KJPP employees in Malang City. Data collection was conducted by distributing questionnaires to respondents selected using a specific sampling technique according to the study's characteristics. The data were analyzed using path analysis to determine the direct and indirect effects between the study variables. The results showed that professional competence had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Interpersonal communication also had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Furthermore, job satisfaction was shown to have a positive effect on organizational commitment and was able to mediate the influence of professional competence and interpersonal communication on organizational commitment. These findings indicate that the higher the professional competence and quality of interpersonal communication possessed by employees, the higher the job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kompetensi profesional dan komunikasi interpersonal terhadap komitmen organisasi melalui kepuasan kerja pada Kantor Jasa Penilai Publik (KJPP) di Kota Malang. Kompetensi profesional dan komunikasi interpersonal merupakan faktor penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia serta membangun loyalitas karyawan terhadap organisasi. Dalam konteks organisasi jasa profesional, kepuasan kerja menjadi variabel yang mampu memperkuat hubungan antara kemampuan individu dan keterikatan karyawan terhadap organisasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian explanatory research. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh karyawan KJPP di Kota Malang. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik sampling tertentu sesuai karakteristik penelitian. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis jalur (path analysis) untuk mengetahui pengaruh langsung maupun tidak langsung antar variabel penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi profesional berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja dan komitmen organisasi. Komunikasi interpersonal juga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja serta komitmen organisasi. Selain itu, kepuasan kerja terbukti berpengaruh positif terhadap komitmen organisasi dan mampu memediasi pengaruh kompetensi profesional dan komunikasi interpersonal terhadap komitmen organisasi. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi kompetensi profesional dan kualitas komunikasi interpersonal yang dimiliki karyawan, maka semakin tinggi pula kepuasan kerja dan komitmen organisasi yang terbentuk.
