<![CDATA[The Tajin Mera tradition carried out every Safar month is a habit of distributing red porridge often carried out by residents in various regions, especially in the Temorlorong hamlet of Burneh village, Burneh district. Bangkalan, Madura City, to be an effort to 'nyelameti' the moon and reject bala', where the Safar month is believed to be unlucky or bad. This study uses reception theory to determine residents' perspectives on the tradition of Tajin Mera in Temorlorong hamlet. This research uses descriptive qualitative data collection through interviews and observations. The research subjects were religious leaders, ustadz/ah, and residents of Temorlorong hamlet in Burneh village. The results showed that the tradition of Tajin Mera in Temorlorong hamlet of Burneh village was carried out because of a message or hereditary will in the hamlet and also as a symbol to 'nyelameti ' the month of safar which is considered an unlucky month. This research concludes that the tradition of Tajin Mera in Temorlorong hamlet of Burneh village is based on reception theory, which is found in two types of receptions, namely aesthetic receptions and functional receptions that do not contradict the Qur'an, hadith, and logic. In addition, this Tajin Mera tradition has a positive value that can connect the relationship.]]>
