<![CDATA[Mathematical problem-solving is a fundamental competence for civil engineering students, as it underpins their ability to analyze and address engineering-related challenges. However, current instructional practices in higher education remain largely procedural and insufficiently integrate digital technologies and meaningful contexts, making it difficult for students to connect abstract mathematical concepts with real-world engineering applications. This condition often leads to low engagement and limited development of critical thinking skills. This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of an Ethno-STEAM-based digital mathematics learning model in enhancing students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities. A Research and Development (R&D) approach was employed using the Borg and Gall model adapted from Dick and Carey. The findings indicate significant improvements in analytical skills, understanding of integral concepts, engagement, and critical thinking. These results suggest that the Ethno-STEAM approach provides a more contextual, interactive, and relevant learning experience, while supporting the development of 21st-century competencies in engineering education.]]>
