<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the use of imperative and persuasive sentences in Gus Iqdam’s religious sermons and examine their implications for teaching persuasive texts in senior high school. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using content analysis. The data consisted of utterances containing imperative and persuasive sentences collected from selected sermon recordings of Gus Iqdam available on digital media. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed using classification and interpretation techniques based on linguistic theories of sentence types and persuasion. The findings reveal that Gus Iqdam frequently employs imperative and persuasive sentences to influence audiences emotionally and cognitively, making the sermons effective communicative texts. These characteristics indicate that Gus Iqdam’s sermons have strong potential as alternative teaching materials for persuasive texts in Indonesian language learning at the senior high school level. The study concludes that integrating authentic religious discourse into classroom instruction can enhance students’ understanding of persuasive language and improve their communicative competence.]]>
