Efektivitas Program Birrul Walidain Sebagai Hidden Curriculum dalam Membentuk Karakter Islami Peserta Didik di SDIT Kartika Buana

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Birrul Walidain program as part of the hidden curriculum in shaping the Islamic character of students at SDIT Kartika Buana. The program was designed to instill the value of filial piety through a habituation approach that integrates home and school environments. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the interactive model by Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the Birrul Walidain program is effective based on Budiani’s (2007) four dimensions of program effectiveness: (1) program accuracy, indicated by the relevance of theme and practical character learning methods; (2) implementation accuracy, seen in school–parent collaboration and active teacher involvement; (3) target accuracy, reflected in the appropriateness to students’ moral development stages; and (4) goal accuracy, observed through behavioral changes such as increased respect and concern for parents. The program also succeeded in fostering a school culture that supports Islamic values through a well-structured, reflective, and contextual hidden curriculum strategy. Keywords: birrul walidain, character education, hidden curriculum, elementary school, islamic education Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas program Birrul Walidain sebagai bagian dari hidden curriculum dalam membentuk karakter Islami peserta didik di SDIT Kartika Buana. Program ini dirancang untuk menanamkan nilai berbakti kepada orang tua melalui pendekatan pembiasaan yang terintegrasi antara sekolah dan rumah. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program Birrul Walidain efektif berdasarkan empat dimensi efektivitas menurut Budiani (2007), yaitu: (1) ketepatan program, ditunjukkan dengan relevansi tema dan metode pembelajaran karakter berbasis praktik; (2) ketepatan pelaksanaan, tercermin dalam integrasi sekolah-orang tua dan keterlibatan aktif guru; (3) ketepatan sasaran, ditunjukkan oleh kesesuaian tahap perkembangan moral siswa sekolah dasar; dan (4) ketepatan tujuan, terlihat dari perubahan perilaku siswa dalam bentuk sikap hormat dan kepedulian terhadap orang tua. Program ini juga berhasil membangun budaya sekolah yang mendukung karakter Islami melalui strategi hidden curriculum yang terstruktur, reflektif, dan kontekstual.
