<![CDATA[This study discusses the social approach in elementary (SD/MI) learning as an effort to build students’ social awareness and responsibility. The social approach emphasizes interaction, collaboration, and shared learning experiences as essential components in the learning process. This study aims to describe the concept and objectives, principles and implementation, as well as the impacts and challenges of applying the social approach in elementary education. The method used is a literature-based study by reviewing various relevant books and theoretical sources. The results show that the social approach can effectively develop students’ empathy, cooperation skills, and sense of responsibility within group activities. However, its implementation faces challenges such as differences in student characteristics and limited classroom management strategies. Therefore, teachers play a crucial role as facilitators in creating an inclusive and interactive learning environment. In conclusion, the social approach significantly contributes to shaping students’ character by fostering social awareness and responsibility from an early age.]]>
