Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between Generation Z’s spending habits and their career preferences, compensation, and work motivation among individuals aged 17–28 in South Jakarta. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach with Likert-scale questionnaires, the study reveals that career direction, compensation levels, and work motivation collectively shape Gen Z’s consumption patterns, including planned spending and impulsive buying. The findings highlight the importance of understanding young adults’ financial behavior to inform HR strategies and financial education programs tailored to their characteristics.
