<![CDATA[The phenomenon of familicide, intentional killing of family members has increased significantly in Indonesia over the past decade, indicating a deep moral crisis and weakening family resilience. This study analyzes temporal trends, regional patterns, and the typology of perpetrators and victims, as well as interprets familicide through Qur’anic values. Using content analysis of 57 online news reports published between 2015–2025, the findings show a sharp rise in cases beginning in 2022, peaking in 2024, with the highest concentration in densely populated regions such as Java. Economic pressure and domestic conflict are identified as the dominant motives, followed by mental health issues and jealousy. Women and children appear as the most vulnerable victims. From a Qur’anic perspective, familicide constitutes a grave violation of ḥifẓ al-nafs (protection of life) and contradicts the ideals of sakînah, mawaddah, and raḥmah that should characterize family life. Socially, this violence generates intergenerational trauma, erodes the integrity of family institutions, and threatens societal continuity by disrupting moral and biological regeneration. The study highlights the need for cross-sector collaboration among religious institutions, state agencies, mental health professionals, and community groups to design preventive measures that integrate spiritual principles with psychological support.]]>
