Abstract

Automation of organizational decision-making reshapes authenticity, freedom, and responsibility within the organization. These automated decision-making systems risk creating legal and ethical issues, eroding the transparency, accountability, and integrity of organizational decisions. This study aims to examine authenticity, freedom, and ethics in the use of organizational decision-making automation. The method of philosophical conceptual analysis is used to examine moral responsibility in automated decision-making. Van de Poel's attributive account is used to assess how explanation, justification, and contestation are operationalized in algorithmic systems within legal frameworks and stakeholder roles. The results of the study reveal the importance of proper legal and ethical protection to maintain authenticity and freedom in the automation of organizational decision-making. The study concludes that epistemic, legal, and ethical considerations are essential for preserving authenticity and freedom in organizational decisions. Its contribution lies in advancing a comprehensive epistemological-ethical framework that integrates both theoretical understanding and practical governance of decision-making automation in organizations.
