Character education that fosters students’ love for nature needs to be supported by experiential learning so that environmental values are not only understood theoretically but also internalized in daily behaviors. The Mini Greenhouse Program is a horticultural education initiative that utilizes limited school land as a context for learning. This community service activity aimed to improve students’ horticultural knowledge and skills while fostering a love for nature among students of SMP SATAP Baurung Majene. The program was implemented using a participatory and educational approach through several stages, including initial discussions, collection of planting materials, preparation of planting media, storytelling-based planting activities, plant labeling, and program evaluation. The results showed an improvement in students’ understanding of soil functions and organic materials, horticultural skills, and science process skills, such as observation and data recording. Moreover, direct involvement in managing the mini greenhouse successfully fostered students’ environmental awareness, responsibility, discipline, and care for the nature. Overall, the Mini Greenhouse Program proved to be an effective horticultural education medium that supports science learning, character education, and the development of an environmentally oriented school culture at the junior secondary school level.
