Teacher reading engagement plays an important role in improving the quality of reading instruction and supporting students’ reading literacy development. However, many teachers still face challenges in maintaining active reading engagement and integrating effective reading strategies with digital media. This study aimed to investigate the effect of the READS Roadmaps Strategy assisted by interactive e-books on teachers’ reading engagement and its impact on students’ reading literacy. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a mixed-methods approach. The participants consisted of one English teacher and eighth-grade students at a junior high school. Data were collected through teacher reading engagement questionnaires administered before and after the intervention, students’ reading literacy tests, classroom observation checklists, and documentation. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential analysis, while qualitative data from observations were used to support and strengthen the findings. The results showed that the teacher’s reading engagement score increased from 72 in the pre-test to 87 in the post-test, indicating a significant improvement after the implementation of the READS Roadmaps Strategy assisted by interactive e-books. Classroom observation data revealed that all stages of the READS Roadmaps Strategy were implemented effectively, and the teacher demonstrated higher motivation, confidence, and use of in-depth reading strategies during instruction. In addition, students showed improved engagement in reading activities and better reading literacy performance after the intervention. In conclusion, the READS Roadmaps Strategy assisted by interactive e-books is effective in enhancing teacher reading engagement and contributes positively to the improvement of students’ reading literacy. This strategy can be considered an alternative instructional approach to support reading instruction and teacher professional development. Keywords : teacher reading engagement, READS roadmaps strategy, interactive E-Books, reading literacy, english teaching
