Abstract

Minimnya pemahaman masyarakat mengenai perbedaan uang asli dan palsu meningkatkan risiko menjadi korban peredaran uang palsu, khususnya pada anak-anak dan orang tua. Meskipun Bank Indonesia telah menyediakan panduan resmi, sosialisasi di tingkat masyarakat masih terbatas. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengenali uang asli serta mencegah peredaran uang palsu. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan melibatkan partisipasi aktif masyarakat melalui observasi dan dokumentasi selama kegiatan berlangsung. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa edukasi keuangan berbasis partisipasi mampu meningkatkan kemampuan peserta dalam mengenali ciri-ciri uang asli secara mandiri serta menerapkan metode 3D dengan benar. Antusiasme peserta menegaskan efektivitas pendekatan partisipatif dalam meningkatkan literasi finansial. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penguatan edukasi keuangan di tingkat masyarakat berperan penting dalam pencegahan peredaran uang palsu, khususnya di wilayah Jorong Cicawan yang sebelumnya minim sosialisasi perbankan. Limited public understanding of distinguishing between genuine and counterfeit money increases the risk of becoming victims of counterfeit currency, particularly among children and the elderly. Although Bank Indonesia provides official guidelines, outreach at the community level remains limited. This community service aims to enhance public knowledge and skills in recognizing genuine money and preventing the circulation of counterfeit money. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), involving active community participation through observation and documentation during the activities. The results indicate that participatory financial education improves participants’ ability to independently identify the characteristics of genuine money and correctly apply the 3D method. Participants’ enthusiasm also highlights the effectiveness of the participatory approach in enhancing financial literacy. These findings suggest that strengthening community-based financial education plays a vital role in preventing counterfeit money circulation, particularly in Jorong Cicawan, where prior banking outreach was limited.
